York LGBT Forum

During the UK Covid-19 lockdown, QueerArts worked in collaboration with Divina De Campo to create a music video, bringing to life the poignant charity single performed by an LGBTQ+ community choir and pop duo Brightlights. This was a huge collaboration, sponsored by Mind, Two Ridings Community Foundation, York St John University, Glass Sound, The Whitwell Family Charitable Foundation, The National Lottery Community Fund and Crowdfunder.

The client brief was to give the feel of a scrapbook, a journey of the LGBTQ+ community, from the 1969 riots to present day. From this came the idea of a stop motion feel to the animation. We then created  drawings and then an animatic for the client to approve along with styleframes before proceeding to animate.
